This pimento cheese recipe shows you how to make this southern favorite. Enjoy it on crackers, veggies and sandwiches.

A good pimento cheese is multipurpose. It can be used as a dip, a topping and as a stand-alone sandwich filling.

Pimento cheese reminds me of The Masters golf tournament, deli food, college football tailgating and tea parties. That’s quite some range for a humble cheese dip/ filling recipe.😉

It is so yummy too! And a southern (USA) classic, y’all! People use it unconventionally too – on burgers, etc.

Ingredients

For tastiest results, always use the best quality ingredients you have access to.

The ingredient lineup is pretty simple: cheddar cheese, pimentos (or diced roasted red peppers), mayo and cream cheese, plus a few extra seasonings.

How to make pimento cheese

Making this recipe is very simple and is all assembly. No cooking!

Just add all the ingredients to the bowl, and stir to combine. Easy peasey, y’all.😎💁🏼‍♀️

Pimento Cheese

Ingredients

  • 5 ounces sharp cheddar cheese grated
  • ¼ cup whipped cream cheese
  • ½ cup jarred pimentos or chopped red bell peppers or chopped roasted red bell peppers
  • 2 Tablespoons mayo
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a medium size mixing bowl and mix well using a rubber spatula. You want it to be spreadable but still slightly chunky.
  2. Serve as a spread between two slices of your favorite bread and enjoy as a sandwich or serve with some crisp, fresh veggies and chips and enjoy as a dip.

    So simple to make and absolutely delicious! I was a little apprehensive about the chili powder, so I only added a small amount…but y’all it’s awesome and gives a little extra something! I also added some garlic powder too, only because I’ve always had garlic powder in my home version. I highly recommend this recipe!
