How to make Jalapeño Popper Dip
First, gather your ingredients.
Ingredients
For best taste, always use the highest quality ingredients you have access to.
To make our jalapeno popper dip recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
- Avocado oil
- Jalapeños
- Garlic
- Cream cheese
- Full-fat mayonnaise
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Grated or shredded parmesan cheese
- Kosher salt
- Panko breadcrumbs
- Crispy fried onions
- Scallions
You can adjust the spice level by removing the seeds from the peppers, or for more of a kick, add extra jalapeños. Fresh jalapeños provide a bright, zesty heat, but the actual heat level varies per pepper, so you might want to take a small sample of each pepper to judge how many you’ll need.
Pro tip! Soften the cream cheese at room temperature for easier mixing.
The mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan cheeses create the ultimate melty texture and flavor, but if you don’t have one type, you can substitute more of another.
Making Jalapeño Popper Dip
Jalapeño Popper Dip is a simple recipe that can be made in just a few steps. Here is how to make it.
First, prep the oven & cook the jalapenos.
Preheat to 350°F and grease a 9×9 or 7×11 baking dish with cooking spray. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced jalapeños for 5 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook 2 more minutes. Set aside.
Next, it is time to mix up the dip.
Make the Cheese Mixture
In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add mayo, mozzarella, cheddar, ¼ cup parmesan, and salt. Mix well.
Combine
Now, stir the sautéed jalapeño mixture into the cheese mixture until evenly incorporated.
Assemble the Dip
Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared dish.
Add the Topping
In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs, remaining parmesan, and crispy onions. Sprinkle over the dip.
Bake
Cook for 25–28 minutes, until bubbly around the edges.
Garnish
Top with scallions and sliced jalapeños for a fresh pop of flavor and color. Serve warm.
Leftovers
Store leftovers in a covered container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
Always use common sense and good judgment when it comes to leftovers, though! If something looks or smells funky, don’t eat it.
