Ripe avocados are key to the creamy texture of this salsa. Choose avocados that yield slightly to pressure but aren’t overly soft. If you prefer a spicier salsa, leave some jalapeño seeds in. For a milder version, you can swap it for a milder pepper or omit it altogether.
This salsa pairs well with a variety of dishes, from classic Mexican meals to grilled chicken or fish. It also works as a topping for breakfast dishes like scrambled eggs or avocado toast. Since the avocados are added last to maintain their texture and color, you can prepare most of the salsa in advance and mix in the avocado just before serving.

Making Avocado Salsa
Avocado Salsa is a simple recipe that can be made in just a few steps. Here is how to make it.
Marinate the Aromatics – In a large bowl, combine the onion, jalapeño, and garlic with lime juice. Let sit for 15 minutes to mellow the flavors.
Add the Fresh Ingredients – Stir in the chopped tomatoes and cilantro.
Adjust the Flavor – Taste and add more salt or lime juice if needed.
Leftovers
Store leftovers in a covered container in the fridge for 2-3 days. The avocados may discolor a bit as they sit.
Always use common sense and good judgment when it comes to leftovers, though! If something looks or smells funky, don’t eat it.
