Ingredients

  • 1/2 small white onion finely chopped (or 1/4 large onion)
  • 1 medium jalapeno finely chopped (seeds removed)
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/3 cup lime juice approx. 4 limes
  • 3 roma tomatoes seeds removed and chopped small
  • 4 medium ripe Haas avocados chopped small
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the onion, jalapeno and garlic with lime juice. Let sit for 15
  2. minutes to decrease the sharpness of the ingredients.
  3. Next add the tomatoes, avocado and cilantro. Mix in the olive oil, salt, pepper and cumin.
  4. Taste and add more salt or lime if needed.

Recipe Notes

In order to prevent the avocado from turning brown, be sure to add it to the salsa last.
You can always prepare Steps 1 & 2 earlier in the day (or a day ahead) and then mix in
the avocado before serving.
