Blogging is a lot of WORK y’all. I’m not going to lie!
But after a year of this, I can say that I truly LOVE. IT. Overall I have gained so much from blogging. So I thought I would share a little bit about why I do the whole blogging thing.
1. To connect with awesome people and make new friends.
Hands down this is my favorite part about putting myself and my story out there.
I still look back on some of the messages I get from you guys.
This one lady who told me how she was finally able to put back on her wedding rings after so many years (I cried). A couple of ladies told me about how they and their husbands are doing Weight Watchers together. Yet another wrote me and said that my iced coffee recipe has helped her kick her diet soda habit.
These stories stick with me. YOU GUYS stick with me and keep me going.
I also love all of the other bloggers I have connected with!
2. To continue to learn more about food, cooking and photography.
I have always loved food. But creating recipes (especially healthy ones) really lights me up. The fact that somebody across the country (or the world, for that matter) is eating one of my peach muffins for breakfast, or sipping on my iced coffee after lunch, or making my lightened up pesto for dinner…is SO cool to me!
Photography is something that really intrigues (and intimidates) me, and I hope to continue to learn and improve. That’s not to say that you still won’t see some blurry iPhone photos here and there. But creating images that enhance my messages is becoming more of a priority to me.
3. To learn more about website design, social media, internet marketing and all things related to Virtual World.
I am kind of fascinated by Virtual World. It seems like anything is possible there. {Insert nerd alert here.}
The fact that there are people out there who find my thoughts helpful and valuable is so fun for me. I know that not everybody is going to care about what I have to say. And that’s okay. Social media makes finding “my people” a lot easier than it would have been even a few years ago.
Instagram and YouTube have become extensions of this blog, and I enjoy all of the connections I am making there.
4. To demonstrate to others that healthy does not have to be boring!
I see so many people struggling, thinking that the need to lose weight is some sort of prison sentence. It doesn’t have to be that way!
I just want to help people see that healthy is attainable. It is possible. And the mind blowing part? Healthy can also be enjoyable!
5. To have a creative outlet for myself.
I now know that I need a creative outlet. It helps me to process my own thoughts when I sit down and write them to explain to somebody else. This blog has been that for me. I love my little piece of the internet here and the outlet it gives me.
It amazes me that I am never short on things to write about. In fact, I have TOO many ideas. I cannot possibly do them all.
This blog would not even be possible without the people who are reading it. So THANK YOU for tuning in. I appreciate you all more than you know!
Have you ever thought about starting a blog? Do you have a creative outlet for yourself? What lights you up?

Thank you so much for writing this blog! I stumbled across one of your videos while browsing on YouTube, and after following you on this site and on Instagram, all your pictures of exercising and seeing your daily concerted efforts to make healthy food choices gave me the push I needed to get back to running and eating more whole foods. Today, my legs are sore, but it is proof to myself that I prioritized myself and am back on the road to better health. Your positive energy and demeanor on screen are inspiring and infectious! Thank you for being such a blessing. The world needs more people like you!
