Weekly Meal Plan

Happy Monday everybody! I hope you all had a great weekend. I am still trying to be more organized, so I am continuing on with my meal planning. I thought I would share my meal plan for the week.

It really is just a plan. Sometimes things change, and I will adjust accordingly. You know how it is. That’s life! But here is my plan for next week’s dinners:

meal plan 031014
I will be trying one new recipe nest week – Skinnytaste Crock Pot Enchilada Soup. It sounds awesome, and I have linked you to the recipe, FYI. I love trying new recipes, but I try to keep it to one a week so that I do not get too overwhelmed.

The other recipe with a link to it for this week is the Weight Watchers Pasta e Fagioli Soup. We have made this several times before, and it is awesome! Now as for that link, you may have to have a Weight Watchers membership to view it. I am not sure.

For lunches, I mostly eat leftovers of the meals you see here, or a turkey sandwich. Breakfasts are often posted to my Instagram, and the most frequent ones are oatmeal, scrambled eggs and breakfast sandwiches.

A Note on Recipe Sharing

I love to share recipes! But I am a rule follower to the core. And maybe it is because I have a professional background in legal and compliance! So I only share recipes that are already publicly posted.

I will not share recipes from a cookbook (or a paid membership site) that is copyrighted for two reasons. Number one, I don’t want to get sued! And number two, I don’t feel right about ripping off anybody else’s material. Many people make their living by writing recipes, and out of respect for them I don’t want to be giving their stuff away for free!

That would be like somebody copying a blog post of mine and putting it on their own site. Not cool! And totally illegal too, by the way. Sharing links to my site, on the other hand, is awesome!  It brings new visitors to my site and helps me to grow my following. The same goes for other authors and/or recipe writers. I will always share links to the original source, rather than copying it and posting to  my own site.

So if you have asked me for a recipe previously (it has happened a few times!), and I did not respond…this is why. I could not find it publically posted. If it is publicly posted by the author, I am happy to share the link. Otherwise I will be happy to tell you the name of the cook book and the page number.

Wow I didn’t know all that legal stuff with recipes! I see blogs who cook other people’s recipes (Julia Child’s, for instance) and list the recipe. Maybe they get away with it because they change it up a bit?

Either way, your meal plan sounds so good! I think we have the same taste in food 🙂

Thanks Nina! A lot of people do it anyway, and they may never get into trouble for it. But like I said, I am a rule-follower. 🙂

I love your blog, I just found it over the weekend! Your are adorable, I love your videos 🙂 I have a Weight Watchers question for you (I have been doing it for 2 months and have lost 14 pounds so far). Do you eat all of your daily points each day? What about the 49 “extra” weekly points? Do you use them and if so, how? I’m still trying to figure all of this out and I am an online member, I don’t go to meetings. Thank you so much for your help 🙂 Happy Monday!

Ah thanks so much for reading and watching! That is so awesome! Congrats on your loss. I am currently an online member as well. I am toying with switching to meetings so that I can get lifetime status eventually.

To answer your question…yes, I eat all of my daily points plus. As for the weeklies (extra 49), I would say on average I eat about half of those when on the tracking method. Because of this I don’t think I have ever dipped into my activity points while on tracking. However, when I do Simply Filling I often eat every last one of the 49 weeklies, and sometimes some activity points too!

As for how I use my extras- sometimes my day runs over by a few points. I don’t like this when it happens, but I track regardless. How I LIKE to use them is for a little bit of splurging on the weekends (ex: lunch out after church every Sunday). As for using weeklies on Simply Filling, I use them for reduced fat cheese (only because I can’t tolerate fat free). Also I use them for anything I want to eat that isn’t on the Power Foods list.

      Hope this helps!

Thank you so much! That does help and it’s pretty much what I have been doing as well 🙂 I have been catching up on your videos…they are great and very inspiring! You look beautiful! I also gave birth to my baby in 2012—my beautiful daughter was born in January 2012 🙂 Thank you so much for responding, looking forward to reading more about your journey. (P.S. I also “liked” your Facebook page yesterday!)
