Ingredients
⅔cup+ 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
⅔cupunsweetened cocoa powder
1teaspoonbaking powder
¼teaspoonkosher salt
¾cupgranulated sugar
⅓cupunsweetened applesauce
⅓cupunsweetened soy milkor plant - based milk of choice
¼cupvegan butter melted, or coconut oil
1teaspoonvanilla extract
¾cupvegan chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper.
In a medium size bowl combine the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt.
In a separate medium size bowl whisk together the sugar, applesauce, milk, oil and vanilla.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients and fold in the chocolate chips.
Spread the batter evenly into the baking dish and top with more chocolate chips if desired.
Bake in the center rack of the oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the brownies comes out mostly clean.
Remove the brownies from the oven once they are done and place the pan onto a wire rack and let them cool for at least 30 minutes. Then lift them from the pan using the parchment paper and place them onto a cutting board. Slice them up and serve.
