How to Make Chia Jam

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of strawberries hulled and diced (or other fruit of your choice)
  • 1/4 cup honey*
  • 2 Tablespoons generous chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Add the diced fruit and honey to a large saucepan, and heat over medium heat.
  2. Use a potato masher to mash up the fruit.
  3. Simmer & mash for about 5 minutes until it is good and liquid-y.
  4. Bring the liquified fruit to a boil, and reduce the heat to low (maintain simmer)
  5. Simmer for about 5 minutes, and then stir in chia seeds.
  6. Simmer for another 11 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Remove the saucepan from the heat, and let it sit in the pot and cool (at least 10 minutes).
  8. Transfer to a glass storage container, and let it sit in the fridge to set (mine sat overnight - about 9 hours).
