Grilled Turkey Burgers

For the turkey burgers

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

For assembling/ topping the burgers

  • 4 Hamburger buns
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Cheese
  • Mayo
  • Mustard
  • Ketchup


  1. Prepare and form the turkey burgers. In a large bowl mix together the ground turkey, egg, worcestershire sauce, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder and olive oil.

  2. Season the mixture with salt and pepper and form it into 4 equal patties about ½ cup each and place them onto a parchment paper lined pan or plate. Place them into the freezer to chill for 25-30 minutes. This will help the burgers become firmer and hold together better when you grill them.

  3. Prepare the grill. When ready to grill, preheat the grill to medium heat, about 450 degrees F. Let it get nice and hot.

  4. Next, you need to take measures to ensure the burgers won't stick to the grill. Otherwise they may come apart when you try to flip/ remove them. You have a few options here. You can oil the grill grates or carefully spray with grill cooking spray. 

    Alternatively, you can also spray or a little cooking spray or brush on a little oil onto both sides of the turkey burger patties themselves, prior to cooking.

  5. Remove the burgers from the freezer, press down on the center of each burger to help them cook evenly.

  6. Place them onto the grill and cook them for about 5-7 minutes per side. (10 to 14 minutes total)

  7. Carefully flip them using a metal spatula in one single quick motion to make sure they don’t fall apart when you flip them.

  8. Once the burgers have reached an internal temperature of 150 degrees, they are done. Remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. If you are adding cheese then add it to the top of each burger after you flip the burgers for the last 2 minutes of cooking time.

  9. Serve and build the burgers with desired toppings. We love a classic bun with lettuce, tomato, pickle, ketchup, mayo and mustard.
