This pico de gallo makes a fresh and tasty dip, topping or sauce that is delicious on any Mexican or TexMex dish you can imagine.
Other names for pico de gallo include salsa fresca and salsa cruda. Whatever name you choose, it is like adding a pop of delicious freshness to your food.
It is usually made from chopped tomato, onion, peppers, with salt, lime juice, and cilantro. This can be used in much the same way as any other salsas. Like on chips!

Making pico de gallo
Making this recipe mostly involves chopping and assembly, y’all. Simple stuff.
In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño pepper, garlic and chopped cilantro.
You can either make the dressing (lime juice, salt and pepper) in a separate bowl, or just squeeze and sprinkle it over the top. And then lightly toss to combine.
That’s it! Yes, really. Serve this pico de gallo with your favorite corn chips, or on your fave Mexican or TexMex food: nachos, tacos, flautas, burrito bowls, etc.

Ingredients
- 1 lb roma tomatoes 3-4 medium, seeds removed and diced
- 1/2 white onion white or yellow, 1 cup chopped
- 1 jalapeno pepper seeded and finely minced. Feel free to sub with another type of pepper - bell, serano, etc.
- 2 cloves of garlic peeled and minced
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro chopped
- The juice of 1 lime about 2 tablespoons
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt to taste
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
