How to make loaded nacho fries

First gather your ingredients.

Ingredients

For tastiest results, always use the best quality ingredients you have access to.

Ingredients with label text on white surface

To make this nacho fries recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

  • frozen fries – any type will work
  • avocado or olive oil, or other oil of choice – feel free to skip the oil altogether if you want. It’ll still be good.
  • salt
  • ground beef
  • onion – I am using yellow
  • Taco Seasoning – I use my homemade (linked), but you can sub a packet of taco seasoning
  • can of refried beans
  • shredded cheese of choice(I used cheddar and Monterey jack)
  • Roma tomatoes
  • green onions/ scallions

Assembly

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F and place a baking sheet in the oven while it preheats. Once the pan is ready, carefully remove it from the oven.

While the pan is still heating, add the fries to a large bowl, drizzle them with the olive oil, sprinkle with salt, and toss. Spray the baking sheet with cooking spray then spread the fries onto the baking sheet in an even layer. (or use parchment paper to line the pan)

Return them to the oven and bake until crispy and golden.

Meanwhile, on the stovetop, brown the ground beef and diced onions over medium-high heat until fully cooked (about 8 minutes) and drain.

Return the beef to the pan, and sprinkle on the taco seasoning.

Stir in 3/4 cup water, bring it to a simmer, reduce heat and simmer until the liquid mostly evaporates about 5 minutes.

Spoon on refried beans. These are thick, but I add spoonfuls all over the fries.. (The spoon fulls will spread with the heat of the oven.)

Spoon on the ground beef. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.

Assembled unbaked nacho fries

Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, and sprinkle on diced tomatoes and green onions.

Serve immediately. Feel free to include any additional toppings you prefer: sour cream, guacamole, olives, etc.
