Instant Pot lentils are an easy, versatile and budget friendly staple that you can use in so many other recipes.
These are super versatile, and you can use them in other recipes such as lentil salad. Serve them as a side dish, or make a meal out of them by serving with rice and your favorite fixins.
I often serve mine with rice, diced avocado, tomatoes, green onion and whatever else sounds good.
How to make Instant Pot lentils
First, gather your ingredients.
Ingredients
For tastiest results, always use the best quality ingredients you have access to.
To make this Instant Pot lentils recipe, you will need the following:
- Vegetable broth
- lentils – green or brown will work
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- paprika
- oregano
- salt and pepper
Cooking Instant Pot lentils
Add all ingredients to the Instant Pot and stir everything together. Secure the lid and set the valve to the “SEALING” position.
So, how long and what temperature do you cook lentils in the Instant Pot? Cook in “Pressure Cook” mode for 9 to 10 minutes.
This cook time yields very tender beans, which is what I prefer. If you prefer them a little more al dente, feel free to experiment with less cook time. It is very easy to check them and cook for another minute if you prefer.
Wait for the Instant Pot to come to pressure (about 5-ish minutes) then it will countdown the 9 minutes of cooking time. Do a manual release to release any remaining pressure from the pot.
Remove the lid and stir the lentils.
Add more salt and pepper if needed for taste.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 5 to 7 days. Y’all let me know if you try this recipe! I hope you enjoy it.
