Today I am sharing my favorite essential oils sleep support blend. This blend helps my family relax and get great quality sleep.
A great night’s sleep is super valuable to me! Great sleep helps energize us and give us lots of energy for optimal health, healing and energy for tackling our (very busy) days. ๐ช๐ป
My mom is actually the first one who got her hands on this recipe. It is the very recipe that got her hooked on essential oils because it works so well. She passed it along to my aunt, who now uses it regularly too.
You can use any brand essential oils in this recipe, but y’all may know I am partial to Young Living (full disclosure – I became a distributor). After extensively researching and trying many, many other brands, they are the absolute best quality. And they work really well!
Two of the oils used in this recipe are in the starter kit. You can read more about getting started in Young Living here and my new member special, where you get two free gifts with your starter kit. ๐๐ป
Essential Oils for Sleep Support
I used the following oils in this sleep support blend, and here are a few of the benefits of each essential oil. Source: Essential Oils Pocket Reference by Life Sciences Publishing
Disclaimer: While essential oils are helpful for many conditions, I make no claim that essential oils are the cure for any disease or condition.
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
Lavender is often called the “Swiss army knife” of all essential oils because it is useful for so many different things. Heads up, though: many varieties are adulterated with hybrid lavender (lavandin), synthetic linalol and linalylacetate. These will not give the same effects as 100% pure lavender essential oil. In other words, you probably don’t want to buy your lavender on Amazon or at the grocery store. ๐ฌ
True lavender provides the following benefits.
Medicinal uses: antiseptic, anti-fungal, analgesic, anti-tumor, anticonvulsant, relaxant, anti-inflammatory, reduces blood fat/ cholesterol, combats excess sebum in skin.
Fragrant influence: calming, relaxing, balancing (physically and emotionally), improves concentration, reduces depressive feelings and improves cognitive performance, reduces mental stress and increases alertness
Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica)
Medicinal uses: antibacterial, lymphatic stimulant
Fragrant influence: stimulates the limbic region of the brain (emotional center), stimulates pineal gland, which releases melatonin (supports sleep)
Frankincense (Boswellia carterii)
Frankincense was valued more than gold during ancient times, and is well-known as a gift given to Christ at his birth.
Medicinal properties: anti-tumoral, immuno-stimulant, antidepressant, muscle relaxing
Fragrant influence – increases spiritual awareness, promotes meditation, uplifting
Bergamot (Citrus aurantium beramia)
Medicinal properties – Calming, hormonal support, antibacterial, antidepressant
Fragrant influence – Relieves anxiety, uplifting

You will also need a carrier oil for this recipe. I am using Young Living V6 blend.
Other carrier oils that I like are jojoba, sweet almond and fractionated coconut oil. Any of those will work too.
You will also need an empty roller ball that you can fill. I like this set of roller balls on Amazon. It is the exact set I purchased for myself, and I gift every member of my team with a set too. It comes with a lid remover, which is super handy.
Plus, it comes with a funnel too, which makes it much easier to fill without spilling.
After I mix everything up, I keep the roller ball in the drawer inside my bedside table. I apply this blend to the insides of my wrists and the bottoms of my feet at night before I turn the lights out. I love it! It has been so helpful for me, and I hope it helps you too.
Let me know if you try this recipe! Pin it and share it if it looks good.
And be sure and stay connected on social media!

How many drops of carrier oil did you mix in the recipes?
Marjorie @APinchOfHealthy says
Hi Roxy! I didn’t count the drops, but rather just topped it off to fill the roller bottle.
