Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs

Air fryer hard boiled eggs are super simple and easy to make in a snap, and they may become your new go-to for cooking eggs.👌🏻

Having cooked eggs on hand is a great way to have a quick protein-packed breakfast or snack on hand quickly. We go through phases in our house. But when we are in an egg phase, we always keep some of these air fryer hard boiled eggs on hand.

They are great with a little Sriracha, or some Everything but the bagel seasoning, with simple salt and pepper or my personal favorite – on avocado toast.😋👌🏻

Always start with the best quality eggs you can find. We are digging these fancy heritage breed ones. Aren’t they so pretty!😍

How to cook air fryer hard boiled eggs

Just carefully place the eggs right in the air fryer basket.

blue and brown eggs in shell in air fryer basket

Be sure not to overcrowd the basket. The max I have done so far is 6 eggs. Then cook at 275 degrees Fahrenheit for 16 minutes. It is not necessary to preheat your air fryer, by the way.

Note: some air fryers may cook slightly faster or slower than mine, so you may want to do a test run first, and adjust accordingly.

As soon as the cook time is complete, carefully remove the eggs from the air fryer, using tongs. Place them in an ice water bath to shock them and stop the cooking.

After about 5 minutes, peel the eggs. Enjoy immediately, or place in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. 👌🏻

I hope you enjoy these air fryer hard boiled eggs! Let me know if you try them.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs (raw, in shell - I have cooked up to 6)

Instructions

  1. Carefully place eggs in the air fryer basket, and close the air fryer.

  2. Cook at 275 degrees Fahrenheit, until desired doneness, about 16 minutes. (Note: cook time may vary slightly by air fryer model. I suggest doing a test run with one egg, and adjust from there if needed.)

  3. After cook cycle is complete, carefully place eggs in an ice water bath to stop the cooking. Let sit for 5 minutes, and then peel.

Recipe Notes

Note: Cook time may vary slightly by air fryer model. I suggest doing a test run with one egg at 275 for 16 minutes. Adjust from there, if necdessary.

Are eggs room temp or right out of the fridge? Does t make a difference and of so how should the temp/time be adjusted?

Hi Viv! I usually take them straight out of the refrigerator. I don’t think it would make much difference on the cook time, though. Enjoy!

Why do the hard cooked eggs need to be in an airtight container? Wondering minds.

Hi Virginia! They’ll just stay fresher a bit longer that way.👌🏻 Especially if they are peeled. If you save them prior to peeling off the egg shell, you can just save them without covering.
