Air fryer buffalo wings are a perfectly delicious main dish, appetizer or football watching snack, and they have way less grease than the deep fried version. So good too!
The air fryer does best with small batches. So I would not recommend this method for a massive crowd.
It would be perfect for a family, or small gathering. Plus, you can make multiple batches, and keep warm if you need to.
I wanted y’all to have this recipe ahead of college football season too. We love football Saturdays, and this is great weekend food.

How to air fry chicken wings
Here is how to air fry chicken wings. First prepare the meat. Dry the chicken wings with a clean paper towel.
Spray the wings with olive oil spray and season them with some salt and pepper on all sides.
Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F. Once it is ready, place the wings into the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook the wings at 380 degrees F for 12 minutes (you may need to do this in batches) Flip them over and cook for 12 more minutes. Increase the heat to 400 degrees F and cook the wings for 4 more minutes to get them nice and crispy.
While the wings are cooking you can whip up the buffalo sauce. Heat up a medium size saucepan to medium low heat. Add in the butter, hot sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce and a little salt and pepper. Whisk and cook until the butter is fully melted and the sauce is nice and smooth.
Remove from the heat and set aside until the wings are done cooking.
Once the wings are done cooking, add them to a large mixing bowl, pour the buffalo sauce all over the wings.
Toss to coat them all in the sauce.
Serve warm with ranch dressing, carrot and celery sticks. I am partial to my own homemade ranch dressing from scratch. But you can use any kind you like.

Interested in making this for Super Bowl Sunday. Can I swap out the regular butter for a butter substitute say with canola oil mixed in it? Thank you.

Which hot sauce do you recommend for this recipe?
Marjorie @APinchOfHealthy says
Hi Diana! Any of them would work. Frank’s Red Hot, Tabasco or Trappey’s bull (more mild) are all good.
