Today I am sharing my weekly meal plan. This week is a little bit different since it is my birthday week! I have some dinner plans with friends and family, so I will only need three meals planned for the week. And I am taking it pretty easy on myself this week.
Since we went to Costco on Saturday, one of those meals will be rotisserie chicken. This is an easy meal to kick off the week. And if you guys follow me, you know that I repeat it. A LOT. And I am okay with that. Having an easy option helps balance out the week for me. I am a busy gal, and I know you all are too!
Plus it is such a great value since the uncooked whole chickens cost about the same (or more if you go organic). Plus, I can get several lunches (sandwich and/or salad with leftover chicken) and some homemade chicken stock out of the one chicken. That’s a lot of mileage out of $4.99 (what it costs at my Costco).
Staying on Track During My Birthday
You guys know that I have been struggling lately. I have lost over 30 pounds since starting Weight Watchers (55+ overall). But over the last couple of months I have mostly been maintaining. Which is not terrible, but I would like to lose about another 10 pounds to get back in my healthy weight range for my height.
Two weeks of summer vacation did not help. I did finally jump back on plan last week, but now this week is my birthday week. Which means lots of dinners out, and cake consumption is highly likely. So what’s a girl to do?!
I am brainstorming some tips to share with you guys for staying on track during a celebratory week, like your birthday. I guess my hope is that I will take my own advice and follow these tips!
My Strategy for Staying on Track During My Birthday Week
1. I commit to track all food, no matter what.
2. I will make exercise a priority. Specifically I am aiming for 4 days with at least 10,000 steps on my Fitbit (affiliate link).
3. I will rely on my best low points options throughout the day (the meals that are not part of the celebrations). Hello breakfast smoothies! And lunch salads! I restocked my fruits and veggies this weekend. I’ve got spinach, peppers, bananas, watermelon and blueberries.
4. I will plan to have cake at some point (preferably cupcake), but I am requesting that it not be anything that results in leftovers at my house for the following week (no whole cakes, please).
