Hello there friends of the internet! Today I am sharing a few snapshots from our weekend at The Lodge at Gorham’s Bluff here in Alabama.
Fair warning: lots of pictures are about to hit your computer screen. I am going to try and keep my words to a minimum. Because the visual beauty of this place speaks volumes.
Oh, and the FOOD! But, I’ll get to that in a minute. 🙂
So hubby and I recently had out NINE YEAR wedding anniversary. With this new baby girl coming soon and all the demands of life, we decided we needed to take a little get-away slash babymoon. (<- Side note: my husband thinks that term is hilarious.)
We thought an inn or a bed & breakfast would be just the place to get some great rest. After doing a little research, I found this place, Gorham’s Bluff. When I saw the views, I knew we had to go. (Note: This trip was NOT sponsored, FYI. I just wanted to share it because we enjoyed it so much!)
Even though it rained the entire time we were there, it was still wonderful. I was able to book us a couples massage, which was just the thing I needed to unwind.
And between ALL the food we consumed, we were able to watch some college football in the living area with the other guests. Heads up if you are thinking of staying there: if you are a TV person, there are no TV’s in the rooms in the lodge. You might be happier staying in one of the cottages.
For us? We are not huge TV people. We were wanting to mostly relax and spend time together. They do have free Wifi, which I was very happy about.
Now, let’s talk about the food for a moment.
Oh. My. WORD! The food was incredible! We almost made ourselves a little sick. Every time we turned around, they would bring out another course. And everything was just so delicious!
Breakfast, my most favorite meal of the day, was ah-MAZING.
Dinner was just as amazing! My photographs don’t do it justice. They had the lights dimmed, which made for great ambiance. But grainy pictures! I did give them a little more brightness in editing, but if they look a little grainy, you know why.
I love how they made us our own little menu!
We had to get them to box up dessert because we were TOO full.
The trip was a nice time to relax and unwind, and I don’t think we even realized just HOW much we needed that.
Have you ever been to Gorham’s Bluff? What is your favorite spot for a relaxing weekend get-away? Did you take a “Babymoon?”
I hope you enjoyed this post! If you made it this far, thanks for reading. 🙂
