Welcome to What I Ate Wednesday, where I share a day of my (usually) healthy eats. This particular day is not exactly a shining example of healthy eats. And most of my photos ended up being recycled photos, so I am not a shining example of a WIAW blogger this week either!
But I am sharing anyway! Thanks to Jenn for hosting the linkup.
Before I get to my eats, I am going to ask a favor: If you could take 5 minutes and vote for me for King’s Hawaiian’s culinary explorer, I would greatly appreciate it!!!
Voting is a bit inconvenient, since you have to set up a (free) logon, confirm your account via email, log back in and THEN vote (<-pain, I know). Which is WHY I need the extra help from my fellow food lovers. Because you guys “get it” and KNOW why this would be a huge deal for me.
If you want to know more about it, and why I am interested, see this post, which includes my application video.
Okay, enough about that. On to the food! I am doing Weight Watchers Simply Filling this week, so I only will note PointsPlus for the “extras” (i.e., the non Power foods). Breakfast was two eggs over easy, clementines, light wheat toast with real butter (1pp) and coffee with half and half (1pp for two cups).
Breakfast is my strength. I can usually ace the healthy breakfast, even if a little butter sneaks in.
For lunch I met my husband at a local Mexican restaurant, which probably wasn’t the best idea. I ate too many chips. I didn’t portion them out like I normally do, despite what you see in the picture (recycled picture by the way). And I ate about three quarters of the shell from my taco salad…eek! Who the heck knows how many extra points that was?! And the small side of guacamole I am estimating to be about 1pp.
And I still had my post-lunch iced coffee when I got home (1pp – another recycled photo).
And then I ate two dove dark chocolate miniature promises (2pp – not pictured).
For afternoon snack, I had a green smoothie. Thumbs up!
And then I had two MORE pieces of dark chocolate (2pp – not pictured).
For dinner I made baked garlic shrimp over garlic parmesan cheese grits (2pp for butter and parmesan) and steamed broccoli. When I reached for my camera, the battery was dead (<-womp, womp). So yet again, another recycled photo. There is bread in the photo, which I did not eat.
So even though I ate too much, there it is – my day of eats. I had a tough time resisting the chocolate and the chips and salsa.
